David Janes, Jr., AIA, Principal and Design Director
David graduated from California Polytechnic State University's School of Architecture, San Luis Obispo. He joined SGPA in 1986 as a designer and was appointed a principal and firm-wide design advocate in 1996. His responsibilities include developing firm wide design standards and overview of the organization of the design process and projects in both the San Francisco and San Diego offices. David has over twenty-five years of professional experience that includes master planning and project design in eight states, Japan, Thailand, Guam and New Caledonia. He is licensed to practice Architecture in California and is active in the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Urban land Institute (ULI).
