SGPA joined students, faculty, District Leaders, and the Construction Team as we celebrate these much anticipated Campus Upgrades.
On Monday March 11, 2024, we attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Kearny High Education Complex! The event was attended by SDUSD students and district leaders, with performances and speeches sharing excitement for the upcoming campus transformation.
The ceremony marked the start of construction on the school’s next wave of its Whole Site Modernization project, which will construct a new two-story classroom and student services facility, modernize nine classroom buildings and the student dining area, renovate the softball field, create outdoor collaborative learning spaces, remove all portable classrooms, and enhance school security.
Working with San Diego Unified School District and Balfour Beatty US, we are thrilled to be part of the campus and have a positive impact by enriching the lives of many future Komets.
“As a Kearny High administrator, I have worked with an incredible team to transform and reform this school to what it is today,” said Ana Diaz-Booz, Principal of Kearny High School. “This project will only continue our vision of transformation.”
