This transit oriented development helps fulfill the City of Hayward's vision of creating a walkable neighborhood around the South Hayward BART Station.
The four-story project successfully redeveloped the existing commercial site and surface parking lot situated on a 1.8-acre parcel of land. Positioned within convenient walking distance of the South Hayward Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station, the design has effectively transformed the neighborhood with an appealing streetscape, characterized by active uses and extensive glazing on the ground level.
The building was thoughtfully programmed to accommodate various features, including a 1,700 SF shop/cafe space, a welcoming lobby, a common rooftop patio deck, a large private landscaped courtyard with a pool abd BBQ area and other high-end amenities. The end result is an attractive mixed-use building which seamlessly adheres to the requirements of the form-based code governing this area, enhancing the overall urban landscape.
