SGPA's design study of this mixed-use project represents the first phase in creating a new pedestrian-friendly mixed-use residential village.
The project integrates new restaurants and shops with residential uses, creating a vibrant new community hub. The building’s broken up massing and varied roof lines aim to introduce a residential character to this commercial zone, while reducing its visual impact. At the heart of the project is the intersection of Johnson and Kenilworth streets, where expansive windows, high ceiling retail spaces, and large exterior dining areas create a lively promenade.
The updated landscaping provides new street trees and pedestrian-friendly street furniture, enhancing the overall experience. The use of high-quality materials like standing seam metal roofing, smooth exterior plaster, and high-quality architectural panel systems create a striking building appearance. Key features include open floor plans and generous balconies, offering residents a personal connection to nature. This development is not just a project but a first step in creating a new walkable neighborhood that blends Petaluma’s heritage with modern living.
