A full renovation of the interior, which includes 144 living units of affordable housing.
San Pablo Hotel is an occupied renovation of a 76,836 SF senior living community, originally constructed in 1906, featuring 144 affordable senior single-room occupancy (SRO) apartments. The project secured 4% tax credit financing for refreshing unit interiors, renovation of the laundry room with addition of new modern appliances, programming of ground floor common areas, and upgrades to the building infrastructure.
Residents played a significant role in the design of the exterior landscape and site improvements, influencing ownership’s decision-making throughout the design process. The outcome has been highly satisfied residents. Modifications were also made to the existing courtyard, which included the addition of planting beds, a walking path, and improvements to the landscaped area available to residents.
